COPENHAGEN: The EMF Congress, held in Copenhagen on June 17-18, has elected Reinhard Kuhlmann, of Germany, as General Secretary to follow Hans Fluger, Denmark.
Kuhlmann was the EMF Assistant General Secretary. His successor for this post is Bart Samyn, of Belgium.
The theme for the Congress was "A New Deal for Europe - Heading into the Future."
The EMF is made up of 56 European metalworkers' unions, representing over 5.5 million members.
