Historic union victory in Turkish tyre industry

8 enero, 2015After a long struggle, IndustriALL Global Union Turkish affiliate Lastik-Is, representing tyre workers in the country, has persuaded two multinational tyre manufacturers to end out-sourcing of staff and put a total of 1,200 contracted workers on the payroll.

Historic victory for CUT metalworkers in Brazil

23 abril, 2014The CNM/CUT, an affiliate of IndustriALL Global Union, has signed a unique agreement on profit sharing with ThyssenKrupp Elevadores. The company will pay a profit sharing bonus to 2,000 members of 27 metalworkers’ unions affiliated to the CUT in nine states. This is the first such national company agreement to apply only to members of unions affiliated to the same Brazilian trade union central.

Building unity and power in Thailand

Shipbreaking kills four workers in Bangladesh

10 abril, 2014An exploding gas cylinder at the Arafin Enterprise shipbreaking yard in Sitakunda, Bangladesh, resulted in the death of four workers after inhaling carbon dioxide on 3 April. Another three workers are hospitalized with injuries.
