IndustriALL Global Union and Italian energy giant Eni have renewed their global framework agreement, with improved rights for 33,000 direct employees in 65 countries including a world works council.
The agreement arose from a Protocol on Industrial Relations entered into between ENI management and Italian trade unions FILCEA, FEMCA and IULCEM in June 2001. This protocol established procedures for dialogue on the socio-economic impact of the company's activities across the globe and respect for human and trade union rights as contained in the ILO Core Conventions.
IndustriALL Global Union’s Italian affiliates Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl, and Uiltec-Uil answered with a series of united actions against the plans of the energy giant Eni Group, announced earlier in July, to gravely change its refinery investment plan in Italy.
