No going back! SUTEIVP's six years of struggle for the reinstatement of workers at Vidriera del Potosí

29 January, 2014On 26 January, the Mexican trade union SUTIEVP, and IndustriALL Global Union affiliate, commemorated six years of struggle by 33 workers who are demanding their jobs back at Industria Vidriera del Potosí, a subsidiary of Grupo Modelo - AB InBev. The workers were dismissed by the company in 2008, in complicity with the corrupt labour authorities in order to weaken the independent trade union.

UK glass workers’ strike wins pay deal

16 July, 2014Unite the Union members at Tyneside Safety Glass in Gateshead, England, went on strike for three weeks in response to management’s miserly wage offer in June and July. The workers’ action won a good new contract and members returned to work on 14 July.

10 April, 2014Thirty-three workers have won an important victory in their fight for reinstatement at Vidriera de San Luis Potosí. The company, which dismissed hundreds of workers in 2008 for forming an independent trade union, makes bottles for the export beer brand Corona Extra and is a subsidiary of Grupo Modelo-AB InBev.
