After six months of negotiations, the Russian mine-workers union Rosugleprof, an affiliate of IndustriALL Global Union, has signed its first federal agreement with the Association of Coal Industry Employers of Russia for 2013-2016.
Russian unionist Valentin Urusov who was recently freed from prison received the Arthur Svensson International Prize for Trade Union Rights 2013. IndustriALL Global Union supported his nomination for the award.

19 miners died and 3 more were injured in a methane explosion at Vorkutinskaya mine (Vorkuta, Russia) on 11 February. Representatives of the Russian Independent Coal Employees’ Union (Rosugleprof), an IndustriALL affiliate, were included in the commission to investigate the causes of the tragedy.
