Nigerian unions and federal government agree on new minimum wage

25 juillet, 2024Trade union federations in Nigeria, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) signed a new minimum wage agreement of 70 000 Naira ($43) with the Federal Government of Nigeria on 18 July which will be reviewed after three years. 

Organizing is key in growing battery industry

The joint global meeting was seen as a positive and successful experience by the participants. Both organisations will explore further international cooperation and develop future activities to support affiliates in organising workers throughout the battery supply chain.

EU must end support for MADE in Myanmar and EBA policies

11 janvier, 2024After almost three years of military rule in Myanmar, IndustriALL Global Union and industriAll Europe reiterate their call for the European Union (EU) to withdraw support for the Multistakeholder Alliance for Decent Employment in the Myanmar Apparel Industry (MADE in Myanmar) project and the EU’s Everything But Arms (EBA) preferential trade agreement. The presence of EU brands in Myanmar provides vital foreign exchange which sustains the military regime and facilitates the purchase of arms, ammunition, and fuel.

South Africa: 12 workers killed at Impala Platinum Mine

30 novembre, 2023What could have been a joyous end of shift for 86 miners at Impala Platinum Holding Limited, Implats, mine in Rustenburg on 27 November ended up in a horrific accident that claimed the lives of 12 workers and seriously injured 74 workers who are in hospital.
