Swiss to vote on holding multinationals responsible for supply chains

22 October, 2020On 29 November, Switzerland will hold a nationwide referendum on the Responsible Business Initiative. A vote in favour of the initiative will make companies headquartered in Switzerland legally responsible for what happens in their supply chains.

Italian workers fight against closure of Whirlpool in Naples

They demand a review of the company’s decision to close down its Naples site by the end of October 2020. The decision jeopardizes over 400 jobs.

Philippine government U-turns on 13th month pay after pressure from unions

Moroccan miners hold underground sit-in

17 December, 2020100 Moroccan mine workers have spent the past week 700 metres underground, occupying the Jebel Aouam mine near M’rirt in Khénifra province. Another 200 workers are protesting above ground.
