IndustriALL and TKE unions collaborate to empower workers31 July, 2023Working conditions, wages, social dialogue, workers’ and union rights, and the development of a global union council were items discussed at the IndustriALL Global Union, and TK Elevator (TKE) unions hybrid meeting. The Madrid meeting held on 11-12 July, served as a platform for robust discussions on national situations in TKE plants and around the objectives of the global union council (GUC) to enhance workers’ rights and strengthen social dialogue.
Making unions relevant for white collar workers2 November, 2023Organizing, reskilling, artificial intelligence and mental health were items on the agenda at IndustriALL’s first strategic white-collar workers meeting, since 2017, held in Madrid on 26 and 27 October. 70 participants, online and in person, exchanged their different realities, needs and expectations regarding the world of work and how to make trade unions more relevant for white-collar workers in Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The main topic was the conflict in Ukraine where unions are faced with deteriorating working conditions amidst the ongoing struggle for safety due to the Russian invasion.
Spain: Saint-Gobain workers fight plant closure22 May, 2024Workers at the Saint-Gobain SEKURIT plant in Avilés, Spain, launched a three-day strike on 20 May opposing the company's decision to cease windshield manufacturing operations at the facility. The negotiation process regarding the plant closure is set to conclude on 24 May, and the closure would mark the end of over 70 years of production that has significantly benefited the company.
