10 juin, 2008Workers and unions were shocked on January 15 when Nokia management announced it would close its plant in Bochum, Germany by the end of June. Nokia had received nearly 100 million euros in government subsidies for the plant and was bound by law to guarantee jobs until December 31, 2007. Fourteen days later, despite it turning a sizable profit, Nokia declared the plant would close.
