IndustriALL Global Union's Workshop "Train the Trainer"

16 December, 2014On 24-26 November the "Bukuriya" sanatorium in the Republic of Moldova hosted the first workshop of the "Train the Trainer" project organized by the IndustriALL Global Union.

25 union activists from IndustriALL’s four affiliates , as well as Victor Tаlmach, the chairman of the Trade Union Federation of the Workers in the Construction and Materials Industry of Moldova (SINDICONS), Nicolae Stratila, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Union of the Workers of Chemical Industry and Energy Resources of Moldova, and Ion Pirgaru, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Communications Workers of Moldova participated in the workshop.

Jean-Yves Sabot, secretary of FO-Metaux, France, facilitated the workshop. 

The project consists of 5 workshop modules during which participants will learn the union training tools and apply them facilitating workshops on their own.

Jean-Yves Sabo spoke to the union activists about the social and economic system, as well as the union activity in France.

Vadim Borisov, the representative of the IndustriALL Global Union, described in detail the long-term IndustriALL campaign against precarious work, having noted that after the global financial crisis the number of the unemployed people in the world decreases, but workers are now being employed as precarious workers. The workshop participants also participated in a "STOP precarious work!" flashmob.

At the end of the workshop Ion Pirgaru expressed his confidence in continuing effective cooperation of the Moldavian and French unions and highly appreciated the importance of the seminar for the formation of a team of trainers for the unions of Moldova.
