Tenaris Brazil reverses dismissals after strike

5 June, 2019Workers at Tenaris Confab in Brazil began strike action on 20 May after the steel-pipe producer fired 25 workers. As a result, the company reversed the dismissals a day later and agreed to negotiate with the union on the workers’ future.

Uruguay: paper union seeks to negotiate the rehiring of 270 workers

24 August, 2016Ninety percent of the workers of the National Paper Factory in Colonia, Uruguay, have been laid off due to the factory’s economic difficulties. FOPCU, an IndustriALL affiliate, is negotiating their rehiring with the company and the ministry of labour.

Gildan Activewear continues to violate workers' rights in Haiti and Honduras

7 November, 2018One year ago, Gildan's supplier in Haiti unfairly dismissed union leaders and activists, including 13 members of IndustriALL affiliate GOSTTRA after a strike to demand an increased minimum wage. The fired workers have not been reinstated and have even been placed on a blacklist, meaning they are unable to feed their families and pay their rent.
