IndustriALL Women’s committee formed in Malaysia 3 November, 2014In a move to recognize the role of women, a women’s committee with affiliates from IndustriALL Global Union was formed on 28 October in Malaysia. The Committee is governed by the IndustriAll Malaysian Council (IMC) and aims to look closer at economic, social and legal issues affecting women workers in Malaysia.

Ethiopian textile workers union empowers women1 November, 2013The Ethiopian Industrial Federation of Textile, Leather and Garment Workers trained 20 women together with IndustriAll from 22 to 24 October 2013 in Addis Abeba. The workshop mainly focused on empowering women. This is vital for the garment industry where it is estimated that more or less 80 per cent of the workers are women.
IndustriALL remembers comrades killed at work25 November, 2013On this 25 November, the International Day to Combat Violence against Women, IndustriALL pays tribute to those women who have been killed and harassed at work in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Morocco, Cambodia and Bangladesh. The women killed protesting for their rights in Cambodia stand for the many others who were sacrificed for their rights.
