7 February, 2002COLOMBIA: On January 30 the IMF requested solidarity support with the workers and their trade union at the the Cerro Matoso nickel mine, as they are experiencing great difficulty to finalise a collective agreement with the owner, BHP Billiton.

The fax numbers given, however, for dialling from outside Colombia contain an incorrect city code (should be "4" and not "94"), thus the numbers are as follows:
  • President of Cerro Matoso, Bert Nacken, Fax: +57 4 7723612
  • company negotiating commission, Fax: +57 4 7722391

  • and trade union negotiating commission, Fax: +57 4 7722210
