IMF's new officers

22 June, 1999Central Committee elects new members to the Executive and has a new industrial department president.

HELSINKI: The Central Committee of the International Metalworkers' Federation, meeting in Helsinki at the Marina Congress Center this week, has held elections for two new members to sit on the international trade union's Executive Committee. They are Giorgio Caprioli, General Secretary of the FIM-CISL (Federazione Lavoratori Metalmeccanici), Italy, and Peter Dantjie, Acting General Secretary of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa.
To take up the presidency of the IMF's Iron, Steel and Non-Ferrous Metals Department is Michael Leahy, General Secretary of the Iron and Steel Trades Confederation, Great Britain.
