Als Teil der globalen Aktionswoche gegen prekäre Beschäftigung plant die Gewerkschaft „METALICY&quot; im Zeitraum vom 3. Bis 10. Oktober folgendes:•·         Ausarbeitung und Verteilung eines neuen Informationsblattes / mit Schwerpunkt über die Auswirkungen der Weltkrise auf den Arbeitsmarkt / und eines Posters. •·         Vom 30.09 bis 04.10.2009 Durchführung unseres traditionellen Metallarbeiter-Sportfestes unter dem Motto „globale Mobilisierung gegen prekäre Beschäftigung&quot;. Die Spiele finden unter dem Zeichen der Kampagne statt.•·         Durchführung von Informationsveranstaltungen in den Werken, in denen wir gewerkschaftlich vertreten sind.•·         Organisierung eines „runden Tisches&quot; mit dem bulgarischen Verband der Metallindustrie BAMI, der die Arbeitgeber im Metallsektor vertritt.•·         Beantragung eines Treffens mit dem bulgarischen Minister für Arbeit und Sozialpolitk, bei dem wir ihn über die Kampagne informieren darauf bestehen werden, dass konkrete Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung prekärer Beschäftigungsverhältnisse ergriffen werden,  die sich als Folge der Weltkrise im ganzen Land immer weiter verbreiten.Informationen über alle Aktivitäten werden auf der Homepage <a href="http://www.metalicy-bg.com/">http://www.metalicy-bg.com/</a> zur Verfügung stehen.

BULGARIEN

Under perioden 3-10 oktober planerar Metalicy följande i samband med den globala aktionsveckan mot otryggt arbete:•·         arbete ute på fältet, och spridning av ett nytt informationsflygblad och en affisch om den globala krisens följder på arbetsmarknaden •·         vårt traditionella nationella sportevenemang för metallarbetare, 30 september till 4 oktober 2009, som återigen anordnas under mottot &quot;Global mobilisering mot otryggt arbete&quot; - deltagarna kommer att passera under kampanjbanderollen •·         informationsmöten i fabrikerna där vi har fackföreningar •·         ett rundabordsmöte med den bulgariska arbetsgivarföreningen i metallsektorn BAMI•·         en begäran om ett möte med Bulgariens arbetsmarknads- och socialminister, under vilket vi skall informera om kampanjen, och insistera på att det utarbetas konkreta åtgärder för att hindra att det otrygga arbetet breder ut sig i landet på grund av den globala krisens effekter på Bulgariens arbetsmarknad.Information om alla verksamheter kommer att finnas på vår webbplats www.metalicy-bg.com.

GLOBAL: From Australia to Zambia affiliates will take action in countries around the world as part of the global week of action against precarious work starting on October 3.The impact of the global financial crisis on precarious workers is the theme of IMF's action this year. Affiliates are taking the fight to governments, calling on them to ensure equal rights for precarious workers and to strengthen legislation to prevent employers from using precarious employment in place of permanent and direct employment.Some of the actions that are planned to take place include:<ul><li>Protest actions in capital cities in Australia</li><li>National metalworkers' sport and games in Bulgaria</li><li>Development of a second common demand against precarious work across Europe</li><li>Seminar in Finland</li><li>Film night in Geneva</li><li>Petition and actions in Germany</li><li>Flash mobs in Hungary</li><li>Mass demonstrations across south-east Asia</li><li>Solidarity event in Turkey</li><li>Pickets and demonstrations in Zambia</li></ul>In all cases these actions include the distribution of the global campaign leaflet and poster with the unified message of calling on governments to:<ul><li>Restrict temporary and contract work to cases of genuine need </li><li>Guarantee equal pay for precarious workers and their right to join a union </li><li>Require long-term temporary jobs to be converted to permanent jobs</li></ul>The massive growth of precarious employment has brought negative social and economic consequences for people everywhere. From October 3 to 10 metalworker unions from Australia to Zambia are taking action against the use of precarious employment.

A to Z: Action against precarious work

BELGIUM: Between 3,000 and 5,000 European workers rallied at the Opel plant in Antwerp on September 23 in response to a call from the European Metalworkers' Federation for mobilisation and solidarity in the light of the current restructuring of GM Europe and the threat of closure of the Antwerp plant.EMF general secretary Peter Scherrer welcomed trade unionists from Spain, England, Germany, Poland, Hungary and France to the rally as well as the workers in Belgium.&quot;We will address management again and again regarding our principle demands, which are: no to the closure of plants and no to forced redundancies!&quot; said Scherrer.&quot;We all know that when we do not fight for Antwerp today, tomorrow it will be Bochum, Luton or Zaragossa. We all know that if we do not stick together as firmly as possible we all will lose this fight,&quot; he said.&quot;We need responsible behaviour from the governments and politicians. We will not accept that workers are the hostages of political games. We want effective co-ordination of help, support and aid given to companies at European level,&quot; argued Scherrer.Other speakers at the rally include Klaus Franz, the Chairman of EEF (the GM European Works Council) and trade union leaders of the Belgian trade unions.

GM workers across Europe mobilise in Antwerp

INDONESIA: Unions from seven Asian countries came together in Batam, Indonesia on September 30 to share successful strategies for organizing workers in Export Processing Zones (EPZs). The island of Batam is itself an EPZ where IMF Indonesian affiliates FSPMI and Lomenik-SBSI have managed to organize many of the factories located there.Delegates once again emphasized the poor quality of jobs in EPZs and the enormous difficulties that must be surmounted in order to make contact with workers and organize them. Precarious employment is endemic in EPZs, wages are low and often underpaid and working hours are excessive, in many cases exceeding legal maximum hours. Unions are restricted from entering EPZs and so are forced to find alternative means to reach workers.Given the high percentage of women workers in EPZs, at times up to 90 per cent, affiliates reaffirmed the importance of ensuring that women take on leadership roles and are given training to be active in the union.Wages emerged as a key issue to organize around with some unions taking action in support of increases to the minimum wage. In other cases unions have discovered workers being underpaid and have motivated them to join the union by helping them ensure they are paid correct wages.All unions involved in EPZ organizing stressed the value of taking organizing beyond the workplace and into communities. Delegates from TEAM in Thailand said that organizing in the communities where workers live helps raise the profile of the union and creates a positive impression. In the Philippines, workers that have been laid off organize on the ground in their communities. One union in India has a special unit dedicated to helping members address their social needs. This can involve assistance in securing places in school for workers' children, or support in applying for a bank loan.At the same time as organizing, unions are taking action at the political level to persuade governments of the negative impacts of their EPZ policies. In India there is strong resistance from unions and other social groupings to the government's policy to promote SEZs, or Special Economic Zones. The net outcome of constructing an SEZ is often the opposite of the stated intention, namely the loss of jobs and reduction in incomes. This is because construction of an SEZ involves massive displacement of people dependent on agricultural, fisheries and related self-employment. The meeting concluded that unions must work on two fronts: to organize EPZ workers and improve their working conditions and at the same to force governments to reconsider whether their EPZ policies promote sustainable industries and employment.

Throughout Asia, EPZ workers face the worst working conditions and the most obstacles to joining a trade union. But unions in the region are developing creative ways to reach EPZ workers and improve their working lives.

ITGLWF &amp; IMF kommer att vara i Turkiet torsdagen den 1 oktober för att träffa Turkiets arbetsmarknads- och socialförsäkringsminister Ömer Dincer i Ankara.Fredagen den 2 oktober kl. 11.00 anordnar delegationen från de globala facken en presskonferens om otryggt arbete Turkiet.Birlesik Metal-IsBirlesik Metal Is anordnar ett solidaritetsevenemang på kvällen den 3 oktober. Det kommer att kopplas till Sinter Metals kamp. IMFs film skall visas och en turkisk version av IMFs affisch och flygblad skall distribueras.

TURKIET

SIERDas Zentralkomitee der SIER beabsichtigt, eine öffentliche Sondersitzung über die globale Aktion gegen prekäre Beschäftigung durchzuführen und alle Medien einzuladen. Zudem wird die SIER eine Sonderausgabe ihres Info-Magazins herausgeben. Auf der Titelseite wird das Logo der Kampagne gegen prekäre Beschäftigung abgedruckt.Weiterhin ist vorgesehen, am 1. und 2. Oktober mit der neuen Führung der GSM Nezavisnost ein gemeinsames Seminar durchzuführen, das sich u.a. mit der Frage der prekären Beschäftigung befasst.

la Federazione metalmeccanica in Montenegro sta stampando una versione in lingua serba del manifesto e dell'opuscolo che saranno distribuiti agli iscritti (forse accompagnati da una lettera). Organizzeranno inoltre una conferenza stampa in questa occasione e presenteranno il materiale stampato ai media. Poichè il 7 ottobre è la giornata mondiale per il lavoro dignitoso, la nostra Confederazione organizzerà un evento anche quel giorno ed i metalmeccanici presenteranno l'azione globale della FISM.
