IndustriALL Global Union is looking for a multinational company (MNC) officer

9 December, 2025IndustriALL is looking for an experienced officer to support our work on multinational companies (MNCs) as part of our industrial team. This position requires demonstrated experience in trade union or related work and work with multinational companies, along with the ability to operate in a complex, multicultural environment.

Key duties and responsibilities

The officer for MNC will:

  • Assist in the development of Global Framework Agreements (GFAs) and prepare for and assist in negotiations.
  • Assist in the development of MNC trade union networks.
  • Coordinate general work on MNCs and prepare communications on trade union activities and campaigns related to MNCs.
  • Follow up on decisions and action points from meetings with directors and affiliates.
  • Work closely with directors to gather and provide updates and prepare regular implementation reports on GFAs.
  • Maintain organized records and databases related to MNC activities, union interactions and agreement implementation.
  • Provide support for MNC-related projects and engagements.
  • Support IndustriALL leadership in coordinating the work of the global multinational company committee (GMC).
  • Report directly to the leadership representative responsible for sectors.
  • Assist in organizing conferences, workshops, and other meetings, and be prepared to travel.
  • Undertake other tasks within our global union as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the structure and operation of multinational companies.
  • Several years of experience in trade union action or related advocacy roles at national, regional and/or international levels.
  • Strong understanding of political issues, union structures, and industrial relations in different parts of the world.
  • Proven track record in strategy development, political coordination, and organizational strengthening.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with experience working in multicultural and multilingual environments.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a strong asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
  • Good IT skills: Microsoft office, internet, online communication tools, social media, etc.
