4 October, 2012IndustriALL general secretary Jyrki Raina signs a global framework agreement with Vagit Alekperov, president of Russian-based oil and gas company Lukoil in Moscow on 4 October.

A global framework agreement with Lukoil was first signed by ICEM in 2004. It recognizes UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as all ILO cornerstone Conventions, and covers numerous points on human and trade union rights, health, safety and environment.

The GFA establishes an international trade union network for Lukoil. The representatives of every trade union have the right to meet annually, with the company covering the cost of interpretation, travel, administration and training in human resources.

The agreement was signed by Vagit Alekperov, president of Lukoil, Jyrki Raina, general secretary of IndustriALL Global Union, Lev Mironov, president of Russian Oil, Gas and Construction Workers’ Union (ROGWU), and Georgy Kiradiev, president of the International Association of Trade Union Organizations of Lukoil.

It employs 150,000 people worldwide and has oil refining and petrochemical facilities in Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy and the Netherlands. Overall it has operations in 46 countries.
