Four coal miners die in Pakistan12 September, 2017The mine safety crisis in Pakistan continues, as at least four workers have been killed due to accumulation of poisonous gas in a coalmine in Quetta's Sanjdi area on 8 September 2017. According to reports today, another three workers have died under similar circumstances in a coalmine in the Harnai area.
Georgian union calls for effective labour inspection after deadly accident15 May, 2017Four workers lost their lives on 9 May, at the Tkibuli Elizbar Mindeli mine in Georgia while repairing a lift. IndustriALL affiliate Trade Union of Metallurgy, Mining and Chemical Industry Workers of Georgia (TUMMCIWG), states that it is the worst industrial accident since 2010 and insists on the creation of an effective system of state labour inspections.
