A mandate to act, a responsibility to deliver

17 December, 2025As 2025 comes to an end, the discussions and decisions of IndustriALL’s fourth Congress in Sydney are still fresh. Congress is more than a meeting; it is where we take stock and set our collective direction. The days in Sydney were a success, but more importantly it is a mandate. A mandate from affiliates across every region and sector to act with clarity, courage and determination in a world that is becoming more unequal, more unstable and more hostile to working people.

Collective agreements at Renault Morocco

16 December, 2025Last week, Renault Morocco signed three collective agreements in Casablanca and Tangier with the unions affiliated to IndustriALL -Syndicat Nationale des Industries de la Métallurgie et Electromécanique - SNIME-CDT La Confédération démocratique du travail (CDT) and Fédération Nationale de la Métallurgie et des Industries Synthétiques Métallurgiques et Electroniques - FNMISME - UMT  Union marocaine du travail (UMT).

Moroccan unions protest against draft strike law

21 January, 2025On 5 January, Moroccan unions led nationwide protests against a draft strike law, calling it an assault on trade union freedoms. The Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT) and the Moroccan Union of Labour (UMT) urged workers to unite against the government's unilateral move to impose what they called a law ‘shackling union work.’

Moroccan unions tackle health and safety in the textile sector

5 December, 2024A recent wave of fatal accidents in Morocco’s textile and garment sector has shed light on difficult  working conditions and a lack of health and safety measures. IndustriALL Global Union and its affiliate, SNTHC-CDT, are leading efforts to address these issues, with an optimistic meeting with the Ministry of Labour, marking a step toward long-term solutions.

MENA automotive unions week

5 November, 2024In October 2024, IndustriALL organized the MENA automotive industry unions week in Morocco, with the participation of union leaders from Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. On 6-7 October, the MENA automotive union network met to Just Transition, organizing and workers’ challenges.

7 October, 2024Earlier this year, IndustriALL, togther with Tunisia’s trade union confederation UGTT and our mining affiliate Fédération Générale des Mineurs Tunisiens – GTUM-UGTT, launched a training programme for mining unions. The programme aims to train grassroot trade unions, with plans train around 200 unionists in different regions in Tunisia.

Promoting social dialogue and industrial relations in Moroccan TGSL sector

5 April, 2024On 2 March in continuation of the joint work program, a national meeting was held in Casablanca to develop social dialogue and industrial relations in the textile, clothing, and footwear sector in Morocco. The meeting was held with representatives of IndustriALL, national contact point of OECD, the ministry of industry and trade, employers and textile unions from both the Moroccan Labor Confederation and the Democratic Confederation of Labor.

Moroccan mining union established to fight for workers

22 March, 2024Under the slogan "Strengthening trade union action in the mining sector to defend the mining working class and win an agreement that guarantees the rights and benefits of the miners", the UMT National Union of Mineworkers in Morocco held its founding congress on 1 March.
