IndustriALL executive committee meeting calls for peace and social justice

20 June, 2023IndustriALL affiliates’ response to the global crises of war, inequality, poverty, mass starvation, climate disasters, epidemics, and the increasing violations of workers’ and trade union rights were some of the agenda items discussed at IndustriALL’s executive meeting which was held on 19 June in Cape Town. 200 delegates from 60 countries participated in this meeting just ahead of the Mid-Term Policy Conference which also takes place in Cape Town from 20-22 June.  

Malaysia: Union busting at auto supplier Valeo

30 September, 2024Valeo Malaysia Sdn Bhd’s union busting attempts failed when courts ruled in favour of the National Union of Transport Equipment & Allied Industries Workers’ (NUTEAIW) right to organize. Valeo Malaysia tried to disrespect workers’ free choice at secret ballot result and filed multiple legal challenges against the NUTEAIW. 

Timberland workers in the Philippines strike over union busting

6 February, 2019Workers at Pulido Apparel Company Inc in the Philippines, which supplies global brands including Timberland, UGG, The North Face and J-Crew, have been on strike since 21 January after the company temporarily shut down its main factory to break the workers’ union.
