Sustained campaign by carpet workers in Pakistan yields wage rise

4 February, 2022After a sustained campaign by Ittehad Labour Union Carpet Industries Pakistan (ILUCIP) and workers in the carpet industry, the Punjab Government in Pakistan announced a wage increase of 2,500 PKR (US $14.21) for industrial workers in June 2021. When employers failed to comply, workers took action.

Union signs collective agreement with ArcelorMittal Liberia

24 March, 2022After five months of negotiations, the United Workers Union of Liberia (UWUL), which is affiliated to IndustriALL Global Union, signed a collective bargaining agreement with steelmaker ArcelorMittal Liberia on 12 March which will benefit 1,260 workers and create 400 permanent jobs.
